Why Would I Need Neurolens ®?
Our digital world makes parts of our lives easier, but it also puts a great deal of strain on our eyes, demanding that we see up close more often, read poorly-defined words, or read with a glare on the screen. Oftentimes, this can lead to what is called Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), or Digital Eye Strain. The American Optometric Association categorizes this as vision-related problems or discomfort as a result of the frequent use of tablets, smart phones, computers, or other digital devices. The extent of vision-related problems that you may experience from CVS are dependent upon your visual abilities, such as misalignment, farsightedness, etc. If your vision problems go untreated, they will exacerbate the discomfort you will experience from prolonged digital device use. During your exam at Montgomery Village Eye Center, you will be tested using the SightSync® device. This specialized technology measures exactly how much your eyes are overcompensating at different distances. This information produces your Custom Compensation Curve, meaning that the Neurolens® is specifically designed and manufactured for your eyes. By correcting your misalignment in your eyes, your Neurolenses® treat the root cause of your symptoms by relieving the stimulation of your trigeminal nerve.
